Parasite wood is formed when a host tree grows around a parasitic plant. The parasite itself isn’t present in the finished wood - what remains is the natural shape created during that growth process. Once the wood is harvested and carved, these natural formations become part of the final design rather than being removed. This is why each piece has its own character, with variations in grain, form and tone that make every carving slightly different.
Each mushroom is hand-carved and set into a parasite wood base, where the raw, organic texture is left visible. The contrast between the smooth carved stems and the rugged base adds visual interest and keeps every piece slightly different.
This design works particularly well where a bit of height is needed - on shelves or sideboards. The woodland style makes it easy to pair with plants, natural materials or rustic décor themes.
